We have recently been organising this, our biggest fundraiser for the year - the Hot Pink Gala. However, it is apparent that the event will only be a success when at Level 1 of the Government COVID-19 restrictions. Given the short timescale left and the uncertainty, we have decided to postpone it. We hope to bring it to you in 2022.
Our fundraiser for 2021 is going to be our Hot Pink Gala.
Your Breast Cancer Support Trustees are proud to bring you our Hot Pink Gala event. This will be our largest fundraiser for 2021.
Yes, it's a change to our previous Pink Loop event. This year, the money we raise will be used to expand our "Helping Hands" service which offers meals and financial contributions to newly diagnosed women, pay for our seventh annual retreat and too train more support volunteers.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions our Pink Loop Walk has not taken place since October 2019.
So far we have held four Pink Loop Walks to raise funds (that remain here in Northland) to support people diagnosed with breast cancer. Our Trust is a support network providing practical and emotional help to those with breast cancer. The last event saw the Town Basin turn PINK with over 420 people registered for the walk. In total we raised $8,000 to help people in Northland living with breast cancer.
To achieve this the Trust depended heavily upon local businesses to provide us with Spot and Auction Prizes. This enables us to fulfill our aim of holding a Silent Auction at each of our large events. We are always looking for Sponsors for our major events, not only to provide support but to also get involved on the actual day.
With the Pink Loop walk we like to have entertainment as the participants go around the loop, so we ask local groups and organisations to set up areas to promote their activity and cheer us on. And of course no event would be right without the food & refreshment vendors being there too.
There is a huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to make our big events the success they are. We couldn't do it without significant support from helpers, trustees and businesses:
